Art Group

Art Picture

The group currently comprises 27 members and meets every Tuesday afternoon in the village hall between 2.00 and 4.00 pm. Where we also hold an exhibition every year and are pleased to say that our standard is very high. See below some of our work which is available for purchase through our Group Organiser – Mr Ted Bletcher 01926 777271

The Group welcomes new members as and when vacancies occur. It is desirable that people joining have had some previous painting exerience as no formal tuition is available during our sessions.

Baginton Friendly Club is an old established Village group that has no association with any other national or local organisation. Unfortunately over the years the group has diminished naturally and we are looking for new members. Other villages have similar thriving groups and we want to keep ours going.

Baginton Gardeners

Baginton Gardeners Logo

Baginton Gardeners was formed in late 2011 as a response to a wish expressed by villagers in the Parish Plan Survey. Baginton Gardeners is open to anyone in the village and surrounding areas. Some events will be for members only while others will be open to visitors as well. The aim of the group as expressed in the Constitution is “the encouragement and enjoyment of horticulture by such means as the committee may determine and to advise on horticultural matters.” To this end the Committee are arranging a varied programme of meetings, visits and activities of interest to all gardeners.

Baginton W.I.

Womens Institute LogoA friendly group of about 40 ladies from Baginton and nearby Coventry meet on the first Tuesday of each month  at 7.30pm in the Village Hall, where we enjoy comradeship with guest speakers and social evenings. An annual subscription (£31.50 in 2012) covers membership, magazines, newsletters and branch expenses. Anyone interested is welcome to come as a visitor and get to know us over tea and cakes before deciding to join. The W.I. is a national, widely recognised and respected organisation of women whose collective voice can influence government thinking on a variety of subjects.

Baginton Walkers

 

Baginton Walkers LogoOn the second Tuesday of every month a group of Baginton residents and friends assemble at one of the many village public houses in local Warwickshire to take a walk of less than 5 miles. We will assemble at 9.45am for a start at 10 am. The walk will terminate at the pub for a well earned midday meal for those that wish to stay. Members take turns to research the next walk.

Neighbourhood Watch

Neighbourhood Watch Logo

Baginton Neighbourhood Watch has been operating within the village for 30 years. Information is regularly received from the police and passed round to all those who have elected to receive it via email. The information is also mounted on the Neighbourhood Watch website, www.ourwatch.org.uk, which is regularly updated with useful information.

Toddlers Group

Baginton Toddlers Group

Baginton Toddler Group is a stay and play group held every Tuesday morning during term time (Warwickshire schools) in the Village Hall. 10am – 11:30am

The group is for children aged 0-5 years and their parents or carers to come make some friends and have a bit of fun.

Yoga Class

Yoga at Baginton Village Hall every Thursday morning 10:30 until 12 noon during school term time.

This is a friendly class with many students of retirement age. It offers the chance to exercise and relax together in a beautiful location. The teacher is Richard Gordon, who has qualified with the British Wheel of Yoga - recognised by Sport England as the National Governing Body for Yoga. While you are assessing the class, each class is £6. When you are ready to make a commitment to the class, then each class is £5, prepaid by the half term. This is usually £30 or £35 for a 6 or 7 week half term.
