About The Event
The aim of this National event, taking place across two weeks from 6th to 15th September, is to make available buildings and gardens not normally open to the public, either free of charge or where the admission charge is used for charitable purposes. Information on all those attractions that are opening can be found on the Heritage Open Days website www.heritageopendays.org.uk
This year, Baginton has the following participants: -
Bagot’s Castle
Friday 6th – Sunday 8th 10.30am – 4.00pm and Friday 13th – Sunday 15th 10.30am – 4.00pm
14th Century ruin set in a 19-acre site, woodland paths, river walks and ponds. Picnic area overlooking the castle monument and benches along river walk. Trails and activities for children, our 6 Bagot Goat and reconstructed 18th Century Summerhouse.
Bridge View Light Railway
Saturday 7th 11am – 3pm (routine running day)
Sunday 15th 11am – 3pm Heritage Open Day
Pop Up Vintage Patchwork Exhibition
Saturday 14th Vintage traditional and contemporary patchwork from the Jane Cobbett Collection of Historical Textiles displayed with rare and unusual perennial plants in the Library Garden at Avondale Nursery.
